What version of code are you running on your 5508? the 1602 requires 7.4 code.

Your AP should have to IOS directories. One has the "rcv" and the other one doesn't. Delete the directory without the "RCV" using the command "delete /f /r flash:

Hi Aakriti,
It would appear based on your log the AP doesnt have a IP address. Is the vlan, dhcp, helpers etc set up ? First step lets fix the ap.

The post of your bootup is not enough.
Can you post also include the output to the following commands:
1. WLC: sh sysinfo;
2. WLC: sh time;
3. AP: sh version;
4. AP: sh inventory; and
5. AP: sh ip int brief

Here is a guide on troubleshooting access point registration to a WLC you should look at.

hello,
The Lightweight Access Point does not register with the WLC. The log displays this the error message
AAA Authentication Failure for UserName:5475xxx8bf9c User
Type: WLAN USER
This can happen if the Lightweight Access Point was shipped with a mesh image and is in Bridge mode. If the LAP was ordered with mesh software on it, you need to add the LAP to the AP authorization list. Choose Security > AP Policies and add AP to the Authorization List. The AP should then join, download the image from the controller, then register with the WLC in bridge mode. Then you need to change the AP to local mode. The LAP downloads the image, reboots and registers back to the controller in local mode.

The issue got resolved after upgrading the image.

So upgrading to v7.4 was the fix, correct?
Thanks,
Scott
