AP Speed

Hey guys. I've got a stubborn wireless device that apparently will only work on 11mbps signal. We currently have an autonomous AP setup with the sole purpose of servicing this device. Would it be possible to broadcast said speed and only that speed out of a particular AP through the WLC? I've already setup an AP group to broadcast this SSID on a single AP, but wanted to know if I could do the same for speed/rates.

Thanks!

RF profiles can be configured to control the RF behaviour, including the data rates as well. Refer this link

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/controller/8-0/configuration-guide/b_cg80/b_cg80_chapter_01011101.html

As long as your client device is supported 802.11g or 802.11a rates (uptto 54 Mbps) you can disable low data rates include 11Mbps (802.11b). If your client only works with 802.11b, then disabling lower data rate resulting that client cannot connect to network anymore.
