Hi.
I have some AP1242 and 1 WLC 4400.
Is it possible, I "downgrade" my AP for autonomous? If yes, wich IOS I use for this.
Thks,
Paulo MaurÃcio

Yes. You can read about it at the link below (the process works regardless of whether an AP was originally lightweight or autonomous). Follow the steps very closely (especially step 1!):
Download the IOS image from the Cisco wireless downloads area. The most current version of IOS for the 1240 is c1240-k9w7-tar.124-21a.JA1.tar:

Thanks Robert.
But my AP model is 1242 AG. And I found this:
How do I distinguish between a regular (autonomous) AP and an LAP?
A. The easiest way to distinguish between a regular AP and a LAP is to look at the part number of the AP.
* LAP (Lightweight AP Protocol [LWAPP])-Part numbers always begin with AIR-LAPXXXX.
* Autonomous AP (Cisco IOS® Software)-Part numbers always begin with AIR-APXXXX.

I think it's won't work for my problem.
Thks again.

You can convert a LAP to an AP, and you can convert an AP to a LAP. And you can "unconvert" back to what you started with.

Thks Robert.
The AP was converted to autonomous, and the other image (LWAPP) in the flash too.

Hi Paulo,
I wouldn't trust that. The decisive factor is the IOS running. An autonomous AP can run LWAP image and vice versa.
