AP1562E-E-K9

Good Day,

I did a factory re-set on above AP (more than 60 seconds) the AP is on the same subnet as a WLC however the AP does not join this WLC due to model / firmware mismatch.

I am connect via Consol and getting a stream of debug - I cannot break this and so I cannot access the CLI.

Any possible way to get to the CLI?

Any advise will be apricated

Regards

Good Day,

Above provided download link is for WLC Firmware, the current Firmware version on my WLC is already 8.3.150.0.

8.3.150.0 for 5520

I need to downgrade the current firmware on AP:

AIR-AP1562E-E-K9

In order for it to join 5520 / 8.3.150.0

The current firmware on the AP is: 8.4.2.75

I am looking at the Firmware on a currently joined AIR-AP1562E-E-K9 and according to the WLC this joined AP's firmware is: 8.3.150.0

I am having trouble finding above firmware for the AP on Cisco Software

As I explained in my previous reply:
You check the AP software version on the Compatibility Matrix (link below) WLC 8.3.150.0 = AP 15.3(3)JD17 and the software is there:
https://software.cisco.com/download/home/286290416/type/286288051/release/15.3.3-JD17

Good Day,

Thank you for the Matrix guide, I have one last very painful hurdle.

Trying to downgrade the Firmware (tried from both wired TFTP and Wireless TFTP) I get below errors,

Before downgrade attempt I can Ping the AP, Downgrade fails - tying pining again Ping fails

I even tried to connected a standalone switch with the AP directly connected to this switch, (DHCP configured on this switch) to do a "direct" TFTP copy but with this method the AP dos not even get an IP.

The TFTP server Laptop gets and IP from the switch no problem and it can ping this IP both ways

             - Check the particular TFTP server's logs ,

Thank you but below is Solarwinds's TFTP Server log.

It's trying to GET the file in this case it re-tries 7 times then errors out with:

Dropped because peer didn't respond

 - Make sure that the tftp server is on the same local network as the AP ; and or have a try with https://pjo2.github.io/tftpd64/

Yes I think try a different TFTP server like Marce says.
I've always used 3CDaemon - old but simple and works.

Cisco devices do some funny port changes which may confuse some servers.
Also make sure whatever software you use you create a firewall rule to allow that .exe to listen/send/receive.
The "slow transfer" it's reporting might indicate errors on the port so check that - ideally speed and duplex to auto.

Morning,

Thanks all for the assistance - connecting the AP and TFTP host laptop to the same switch - the downgrade completed without timing out.

Thanks & Regards
