Hello,
Could someone help with our performance?
I have a configuration:
2x 3650-48TQ in stack with core IOS-XE 3.5.7E configured as Mobility Controller
10x AP1832i directly connected to switch 1 through AIR-PWRINJ5 ( according Data sheets this power injector is not 'at', but just USB port should be disabled)
3x AP2702i directly connected to switch 1 thriugh AIR-PWRINJ5
The problem is that 1832i have very slow performance compared to 2702i.
here is troubleshooting done:
- 3650 software changed to 3.7.5 because of critical issue with the switch not sending ARP responses to some of the wired clients.
- 3x AP2702i where connected to remediate the slow performance in critical areas
- DTLS was switched off
- Observations with Intel AC-8260, 2x2 MIMO, client downloading one and the same file from a local file server. Distance from the client to the AP1832 and AP2702i was around 5m. Radio band was 5GHz. The tests were conducted during the night, network was without any other WiFi clients:
o 1832i download with DTLS switched on– 3-5MB
o 2702i download with DTLS switched on – 45-50MB
o 1832i download with DTLS switched off– 10-15MB
o 2702i download with DTLS switched off – 45-50MB
Just for test I removed two of 1832 from configuration, convert them in Mobility Express capable devices with code 8.3.102.
After configured Mobility express I was able to perform up to 60 MB/s file transfer from same file server.
So I don't think the problem is in Access Point itself. Most probably the problem is somewhere in compatibility between 3650 and AP1832.
I have TAC case for same isue but still no resolution. TAC case # SR 682107841

This can also be an Intel driver issue. Make sure that you have installed the Intel driver package 19.40 or newer. There are several performance bugfixes for the Intel AC cards in this release. Oh and in our environment, those bugs were only visible on the Wave2 models (like your 1832) and not Wave1 (the 2702i series) ones.
Regarding your software release, you have 3.7.5E installed and not 3.5.7E, right?

Hello,
Thank you for reply.
The tests were made with windows 7,8 and 10 on different laptops. Also we tried with a Mac.
No difference in performance with different end devices - the performance connected to 2702 rocks while when end device is connected to 1832 file transfer rarely reаch up to 15 MB/s.
Also in Mobile Express configuration 1832 works with same end devices with 3 times mode MB/s ( up to 60 MB/s with 2x2 MIMO Intel AC-8260.

And Yes the IOS version is 3.7.5E.
I will check intel drivers and follow up.
