I read that Cisco doest support this scenario but some people say that they are doing it.
Since I can't map the management interface to more than one physical port how can I register the APs to the controller?

You can use the PoE ports but it is not Cisco supported. The ap will have to obtain an ip address on the same vlan as the wlc management interface.

Hello Matia,
You can use the ports to test AP's if you want, but in production, Cisco will not support attaching access points to one of the PoE ports. You can bring up and access point on those if you wish, but the AP will be on the vlan the management ip is on and you will need dhcp on that vlan.
There are things you will learn that you can do, but Cisco and any other vendor will not support. It's just a way to keep issues to a minimal. For example, if you have v7.4 installed on the 2504, you can enable LAG which means you can create an ether channel on the switch. Doing this does disable the PoE ports on the 2504. So then the issue will become that people would start complaining that their APs no longer power up when they enable this feature.
It's not only Cisco that doesn't support things that work:). Hope this sort of helps you understand.

So this is an older doc, but still covers what you are looking for.

Basically your AP gets an IP address and you either can use a DHCP option or DNS to point them to the management IP of your controller.
So long as there is L3 reachability the AP will be able to join.

Steve
