APs register on WLC, but do not join group.

Just a quick question. When configuring ports facing the WLC, the port facing the WLC management should be switch access vlan management with trunks for the SSIDs, correct?

Ports facing APs should be native management vlan and allowed ssid vlans, correct?

I'm seeing APs hit the WLC but not joining any network. Show ap join stats detailed either shows "not applicable" across the board or "discovery requested decoding with subnet broadcast and wrong ap ip address" but I'm not sure where I can look to fix that.

Have to do most of this via CLI for the time being as it is a remote site.

Trunks off the switches have the same vlans all trunked to my linux box which acts as DHCP and DNS.

How can I make sure that WLAN interfaces are associated with the correct SSID and VLAN?

The CLI in this thing is so so so obtuse.

Management interface is on the 172.24.0.0 /24 subnet.  Our DHCP service on the same VLAN hands out 192.168.0.0/24 IPs.

Hi Kyle,

1. You need at-least 7.6.120.0 version or higher on WLC to join this Access Point.

2. Make sure the time is set properly on the WLC

if still fail then please paste the output of these commands:

sh version from AP

Sh sysinfo from WLC

Tested multiple times, 702W AP's require version 8 minimum. There is something else that have to be configured regarding trunk on AP702W, let me check that and post it.
