@Erik, thanks for the question about accessing the WLC via HTTP/HTTPS.

Here is a link to the users guide to configure the WLC from scratch.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/controller/7.0MR1/configuration/guide/cg_gettingstarted.html#wp1142477

If you have access to the console, follow the cli config steps included in this link to enable http mode if its disabled.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/controller/7.0MR1/configuration/guide/cg_gettingstarted.html#wp1124863

Also verify you can ping the WLC management interface from your workstation or just console into the WLC for inital configuration.

Rogue APs

From looking in the WLC, it appears that it knows what kind of encryption rogues are running.

On the WCS it's great to be able to get a list of the rogues.  This would be even more useful

if the kind of encryption offered was indicated in the WCS report -- none, WEP, TKIP, etc.

Is there a way to get that info in the WCS report, or is this another feature request?

Thanks.

Under WCS --> Reports --> Report Launch Pad --> Client --> Client Sessions, run the report and look for the field "Policy Type". It should list either WEP, WPA1, WPA2, and so on.  There is not a report that will actually list the encryption method such as AES, DES, TKIP, and so on.
