Because of the AT&T->Cincular->AT&T shuffle, a lot of examples have conflicting details about:
1) CHAT string *98 v.s. *99
2) APN Name in Celluar GSM Profile
3) PAP or CHAP authentiation
4) CHAP Username/password
Does anyone have a known-good working AT&T dialer config? Plese include cellular gsm profile.
At the moment, depending on which permutation of settings above I try, I get ICP errors
The one thing I haen't tried to do is call AT&T tech support and give them my IMEI number of the HWIC

Anyone post a working AT&T config please!

Please contact your AT&T acct team. They can provide you a copy of the AT&T CCS Router Configuration
Guide. It contains a sample configuration and explanation that will be helpful. If you
have access to AT&T Business Direct page, you can download the configuration guide as well.

I was hoping that wouldn't be the case.
This is a cheap $25 pre-paid data plan on a SIM card that I walked in-and-out of a retail AT&T shop with.
Under $1000 (SIM + HWIC-3G-GSM) and I can just expense it.
I'm not even Alpha testing, this is just preliminary R&D. Was hoping that AT&T's network was sane and that any PPP/CHAP settings would be accepted assuming that I had the right APN selected and dialed the right number.
I'm not sure if I call AT&T pre-paid support that they'll even talk to me.
"Huh? Data? You want fancy ringtones? IPhone? The White One is the best!"

Turns out it was a provisioning issue with my IMEI/IMSI/ICCID against my SIM.
Had to blow another $50 getting it reactivated but yea, now it connects.
Unfortunately, I have the exact same problem as I had when I had a T-Mobile SIM card and data plan installed into the HWIC-3G-GSM
I'm only getting 15k/s when I should be getting 150k/s.
Its almost like the device is connecting at 2G frequency speeds and needs to be forced into HSDPA

AT&T's GSM network in North-East north america is really picky about getting all the settings just-right. If you're off by even just a little it wont connect (well, actually, it will connect just fine.
1) One must dial 99 not 98
chat-script GSM "" "ATDT*99***1#" TIMEOUT 60 "CONNECT"
2) You must use the right profile:
screwATT# cellular 0/0/0 gsm profile create 1 isp.cingular chap isp@cingular.com cingular1
3) Use these PPP->CHAP settings (Why this isn't PAP I dont know, but 1985 called and they want their Dos 6.22 back)
4) If you haven't setup the channels/bands right, you connect at 2G/Edge instead of 3G/HSDPA and you only get 15K/s (1995 called and they want their MPPP Shotgun modem back)
