Beacons, broadcasts... not multiple streams.

Hello,

A question about how an AP sends beacon, broadcast, multicast packets. I suppose that a 4x4 AP, with antenna ports A, B, C, D, will always use just 1 antenna, the antenna element connected though "A" port, to send this type of traffic. Also for control traffic like RTS, CTS packets?

I post this question to have more arguments against the proposal made by some customers to use 2 antennas of 2 elements, to connect to a 4x4 AP, with the idea of having 2 slightly separated cells.

you should always align the antennas being used to match what the AP is providing.

If the AP is dual band antennas, then sticking single band wont work, same goes for not connecting the right antennas, as thats how the AP has been designed to work
