Hi,

I have some problem with blackberry torch 9800. They can't connect or connect about 1 time of 25 attemps. I don't know why and it's pretty hard to troubleshoot. Other phone with wifi doesn't have problem. I got a Iphone 4 and it's always connect ti the wifi networks.

So did you know problem with torch and cisco AP?

I got 2 Wism controller with software version 7.0.98.0 and all my access point is 1130 model. In the blackberry we have an option to troubleshoot wifi and even if I at 1 feet below the Access point, they can't associate and the signal is about -50dBm and signal force is about 75%

I ask this question in blackberry forum too but I want to know if people in cisco know something about it.

Thanks

I try to create another WLAN without the client load balancing and the problem disapears. The blackberrry phone connect successfully. It's pretty sad that blackberry doesn't support this feature. I will create specific WLAN just for blackberry users.

CSCtn74703 Bug Details

With load balancing enabled, clients doing passive scan can't associate

Symptom:

Clients doing passive scanning exclusively cannot associate to a WLAN when
aggressive load balancing is enabled on that WLAN.

Conditions:

This problem is only seen when load balancing is enabled for the WLAN, and
client does not do any active scanning before sending an association request.
If no probe request is sent by the client when aggressive load balancing is
enabled, then the client cannot associate.

Workaround:

Disable aggressive load balancing on the corresponding WLAN.

Further problem description:

This problem was observed on Blackberry Torch and later clients from
Blackberry. The problem did not appear when the Blackberry Torch firmware was
changed to have it do active scanning. Even when it did passive scanning
exclusively, the problem was not seen when aggressive load balancing was
disabled.

Blackberry Torch is a voice client. Aggressive load balancing is recommended to
be turned off for voice clients since it can add a roaming delay.

The problem could also be seen on data clients doing passive scanning.
