Hello everyone!
We got an application that use broadcast for discovery.
We need it to discover other wireless clients in the same SSID.
Is it supported?

By default broadcast forwarding is disabled.
You can enable it under "Controller > General > Broadcast Forwarding > Enabled"
Note: This is a global setting and cannot be enabled per SSID. Once you enable this all broadcast messages will be forwarded to wireless clients which consume lot of air time and affect your wireless performance. In a large scale network this should not be enabled.

Hi Rasika,
Thank you for the answer.
Actually we have an IOS-XE WLCs (5670), do you know how we can configure it there?

Try below CLI option & test it. In this model you can enable it per vlan/SSID
5760(config)#wireless broadcast ?
vlan Enable per vlan broadcast

We tried it.
When we configured the 3850 WLC everything worked fine, when we did the same config for the 5760 it didn't worked.
Opened a TAC case.

Hello rasikanayanajith ,
Don't want to hijack this thread, but going deeper on the original question.... Does the "Broadcast Forwarding" setting affect also Locally Switched WLANs on FlexConnect APs? I mean, would making the SSID locally switched with FC may work for a solution where broadcast is desired within the WLAN but not for all other SSIDs enabled on the same controller?
Need to provide official Cisco documentation about this to my customer, and was having a very hard time finding anything coming from Cisco... would you mind sharing some docs/links if by chance have anything?
Thanks a Lot in advance!
