Hi;

It is possible to apply a limit of bandwidth per SSID using the WLC?. In case of not being possible, is it possible to apply for Access-Point?

Thanks

Firmware 7.0.X can limit bandwidth on a per user level.

Firmware 7.4.X can limit bandwidth on a per user or per SSID level.

with wism, 4400, 5500, WiSM2,.. supports to limit bandwdith per user/ssid/interface on downlink, the later code supports bidirection rate limiting using software.

wlc like 2500, sre, vwlc doesn't support bandwidth contract.

Currently only 5760 & 3850 can do very granular per user/wlan/radio/ap level line ratelimiting using hardware.

Thanks for the answer. We use 5500 WLC. I am looking the release notes of 7.4.1 firmware ( http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/controller/release/notes/crn74.html ) and i dont see per wlan rate-limit as a feature.

Where i can find some documentation?

Thanks

Take a look at this link

Thanks you very much

Well, 7.0 can still do per user and per ssid bandwidth control, the downside is qos profile configured for wireless que is locked to those 4 profiles. Ex: Besteffort profile que configured with X value configured on global config can be applied to one wlan, if different wlan require different throttling then that can't be done. And per user works only if the user is linked to the configured profile, so there is no mehanism to fair share the available bandwidth among the clients on that wlan.

Hello,

As per your query i can propose the solution-

Yes it is possible to apply a limit of bandwidth per SSID using the WLC.

Firmware 7.0.X can limit bandwidth on a per user level.

Firmware 7.4.X can limit bandwidth on a per user or per SSID level.
