C9105 cannot broadcast WPA3-GCMP256-SUITEB192-1X cipher SSID

Hi,

Is it true that C9105 with Catalyst 9800-L controller cannot broadcast WPA3-GCMP256-SUITEB192-1X ciphered SSID (RSN: 00-0F-AC-0C)? On the other hand, C9130 is broadcasting just fine.

I'm not sure if it's a bug, from the software I'm using, or it's just not supported of out the box since there's no supported cipher documentation: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/wireless/catalyst-9100ax-access-points/datasheet-c78-744062.html

Controller:

C9800-L-C-K9

C9800-L-universalk9_wlc.17.05.01.SPA.bin

APs:

C9105AXI-B

C9130AXE-B

Thank you.

Yup. Got a confirmation that currently only 9130 supports this cipher via TAC.

Might be a bug or not yet supported.

Similar issue for the 9120: https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCvx62745

I suggest opening a TAC.

Here is the note from the config guide:

A WLAN configured with WPA3 enterprise (SUITEB192-1X) is not supported on C9115/C9120 APs.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/controller/9800/17-5/config-guide/b_wl_17_5_cg/m_wpa3.html

It doesn't mention 9105 in specific. But since these higher end models don't support it either, I guess I can assume C9105 doesn't support it either?

Just need an official confirmation. Thanks.

For confirmation you need to contact TAC.

I think the 9105 does use another chipset.

WPA3 Enterprise GCMP256/Suite-B is not supported by the 9105 AP chipset yet.

Thank you!
