C9124AXE streetlight power tap

We are replacing all of our AIR-AP1572EAC access points with the C9124AXE. We currently use the streetlight power tap to power the access points. Is there a way to use this same power tap on the C9124AXE? I don't have any other way to provide power. These are in a mesh deployment.

Straight answer:  No.  The 9124 is not a "direct" replacement of the 1570.  Look at the shape of the APs antenna propagation chart.  9124 is just an 91X0 with a "hardened" shell.  It is not meant to replace 1540/1560/1570.

The C9124AXE is a better direct replacement than the 1562E. It offers the same amount of MIMO channels and spatial streams. Takes the exact same antennas as well. The 1562E offers half the MIMO channels and less spatial streams. I don't agree with Cisco the the direct replacement for the 1572 is the 1562.

Presume you're looking at one of the end of sale notices for 1572.  That was published before 9124 was released so 1562 was simply the only available next best alternative at the time, not a replacement product.

The logical successor is the 9124 but as Leo said it's not a direct replacement.  Refer to the datasheet for power options.

No, 9124AXE is the direct replacement of the IW3700.

IW3700 has the same firmware and hardware of the AP3700.  The only difference is IW3700 is supported in 17.9.X while the AP3700 is only supported up to 17.3.X.  For sales and marketing purposes, it is in Cisco's best interest to replace the IW3700 ASAP.

1540/1560 share the same firmware as the 2800/3800/4800.  I suspect the direct replacement for the 1540/1560 will be 9164 & 9166.

Cisco is about to announce two new models soon-ish (maybe December 2022).

It helps to "read between the lines".
