I'm going to update a C9800 from version 17.9.4a to 17.15.2. Is a direct update possible, or do I need to install an intermediate version?

17.9.1 to 17.9.5 |
Upgrade to 17.9.6 or later or 17.12.x or later, and then to 17.15.x |
Upgrade directly to 17.15.x |
Actually 3d column : Upgrade Path for Deployments Without 9130 or 9124
Upgrade directly to 17.15.x
(sorry for multiple iterations)

Reboot all the APs first before doing the upgrade to maximize the chance of avoiding CSCwe15172, CSCwe97901, CSCwm08044, CSCwm07499, CSCwm72142, CSCwo05017.
Next, after upgrading to destination version, make sure to install APSP to fix CSCwf37271 & CSCws70285.

A field notice has been released for the cnssdaemon.log problem now:
Field Notice: FN74383 - Cisco Access Points Running Cisco IOS XE Releases 17.12.4, 17.12.5, 17.12.6 or 17.12.6a May Run Out of Flash Space, Preventing Upgrades - Software Upgrade Recommended

Thanks, @Rich R.
I suspect the number of TAC & RMA cases forced Cisco to reluctantly release this FN.

Thanks a lot Leo

@CruzBarrera refer to TAC recommended code versions (link below). If you're going to 17.15 then you should be going to 17.15.4d + latest APSP.
17.15.5 will likely replace that soon.
