Maybe they messed up the code. The AP is a L2 device so you will never get it to route.

Hi Ridho,

No. It does not.

This is an AP, not a router.

You can check the command reference for available commands:

hi Abdullah,

Thank you  for your reply .

So I can't use routing command in AP

but, can you look  my attachment configure about my Autonomous AP ?

wow.. I can input route command in my Autonomous AP 2602i

"ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.7.0.1"

without ip route command ,my AP  can't  ping to ip  default-gateway. Although I input "command ip default-gateway"

and this AP can't communicate to gateway

this problem confuse me so much.

Sorry about my english.

Thanks,

Ridho

Hi,

Your English is OK.

Please provide the full AP config to give it a look.

Amjad

Sorry, I found you already attached the config.

I am looking into the config and can find also the command "ip cef" there.

Can you please list the output of the below commands:

- show version

- show inventory

Thanks.

Amjad

Hi  Amjad,

Okay ,attachment has been uploaded .

Thanks,

Ridho

What I see is strange. I am not finding any such thing in the command or config guides!!!

If you have a contact with Cisco TAC please open a ticket with them and update us with the answer.

Hi,

You need to configure interface GigabitEthernet0.1 for your management.

You haven't configured the subinterfac for management on the ethernet port.

Thanks

Chris

Scrap all that it is the bridge irb command that is missing.

Thanks

Chris

Hi Chris,

"bridge irb" is configured by default on other APs (say 1242 or 1252) and it can not be disabled (if you issue "no bridge irb" it will tell you that the commadn is not allowed and you cannot remove bridge irb).

Moreover, this AP has ip route and ip cef commands which is strange.

The command reference guide and the configuration guide do not mention anything about those commands on the 15.2 software version.

If someone from Cisco can help about this it will be good.

As long the AP is  L2 device it works like a switch providing service to connect the network so, routing is not possible on the AP.

Owh , I tried to delete " ip routing" command in my Access point  and finaly there isn't routing command anymore.

hmm but , why is ip routing command can be applied to my Autonomous AP?

thanks for advice,

Ridho

AP is a layer 2 device and ip route, router RIP, Router BGP are layer 3 commands and hence not supported..

even if by mistake those commands are possible on the AP then also these comands will not work and are useless for Layer 2 device.
