Can I configure Aironet access points through APIs without controller

Hi,

we are software company and we have a client who bought Aironet access points without the controller. The client wants to have sort of access control where users will be prompted through splash screen to login and access the Wifi then setting certain bandwidth for each user.

Is it doable to communicate with access points through APIs to achieve that scenario without WLC?

thanks

 - Nope, note that WLC has added value (too) for such requirements , such as  guest access (e.g) ; let alone autoconfiguring of automated  transmit power and dynamic channel assignment on access points for optimal wireless coverage (e.g.)

What model of access point did the client purchase?

Thanks Richard and Marce;

We are capturing the access points model from the customer; meanwhile, during my research, I've encountered Aironet Development Platform (ADP) hardware .. is that something relevant to the scenario I described in the absence of WLC?

1. NO!
2. It's Hardware and Software Development for building hardware and software which can be plugged into APs - is that what you want to do?
3. It REQUIRES a WLC - first point in process: https://developer.cisco.com/docs/adp/#!development-process/development-process
