Hello,

I'm having some issues trying to access via http/https the wireless lan controller via wired. This is my topology:

| 2 | --- port 1 --- Computer

| 5 | --- port 2 --- BLANK

| 0 | --- port 3 --- WAP

| 4 | --- port 4 --- BLANK

I connected my computer directly since I haven't been able to reach it from the FW, this was my original topology:

| 2 | --- port 1 --- FW --- INTERNET

| 5 | --- port 2 --- BLANK

| 0 | --- port 3 --- WAP

| 4 | --- port 4 --- BLANK

For some reason I can't ping my computer nor the FW when I connect the cable directly, I'm not sure what am I doing wrong here, this is the current configuration:

I'm not sure why I can't reach it via ping, ssh or http/s if I connect directly my computer, I don't have any VLAN TAG or anything like that. Any support will be very valuable.

Thanks

First of all, don't use 1.1.1.1 as the virtual address. Use something like 192.0.2.254.

Install guide: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/wireless/2500-series-wireless-controllers/113034-2500-deploy-guide-00.html

Now to the basics, is the LAN port actually coming UP when you connect the FW or your PC? Is the LED green?

If not, you might need to use a crossover cable.

Do you have a gateway/router working with 192.168.1.1?

When you attach your PC directly, did you configure a static IP address on the PC in the same network segment?

After doing the installation wizard, did you save and reload?

Thanks patoberli, that made the trick
