Hello,
I have two Windows 7 computers and neither one will successfully upgrade a 1242 AP to LWAP. However, I go to a coworker's XP machine and run the tool without issues. On Windows 7 I keep receiving the error message of ACL or Firewall is blocking. I have added rules and then even tried disabling the firewalls completely on both computers and still no success. Help!
Thanks,

Kristen,
Did you check the tool specs for supporting WIN7 ? I want to say it does not .. But I am not 100% sure ...

I know I tried once before with WIN7 and it didnt work and went back to old trusty.
HOWEVER, Kristen if you have WCS you can upgrade your autonmous Aps that way ...

As an aside here, if the AP are newer, manufactured after 6/2005(Has a MIC and not a SSC), you can do a normal archive download command to run the upgrade to the recovery image. Can even be scripted to run multiple times via shell/cron

Steve

Hi Everyone. I can use the upgrade tool on Windows 7 32bit professional on a Dell D820. I had to disable the firewall service AND also right click on the upgrade tool icon and then choose "RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR". It should get rid of the tftp errors that pop up. I use it all the time... version 3.4 of the tool...
