Change the IP of the WCS server

Hi.

I have two 5500-controllers and one WCS-server. Now I will have to move the WCS-server to another subnet and change the IP, but it will keep the name.

Will that effect the connection between the controllers and the WCS?

Do I have the change anything in the configuration on the controllers or the WCS-server?

The communication between WCS and the WLC is via SNMP. When you configure the WCS you join the WLC to the WCS via the IP addrss of the WLC.

There is NO record of the WCS server in the WCS. So by this you can change the WCS to any subnet, so long as the WCS can talk to the WLC you are good to go.

Is the WCS license bound to the hostname and not to the FQDN name? So if I change the domain, but keeps the hostname, the license will still be ok? i.e. to change from "xyz.domain.ds" to "xyz.company.ds"

Your orginal question was about an IP change.

WCS is tied to the host name.
