Are there any gotchas or issues that should be known if you are going to use Meraki's switches to provide POE to Cisco 3700i access points? I know the Meraki will be managed in the cloud and the Cisco access points will be managed by the on premise WLC.

There use to be an issue earlier on with cdp/lldp in which Cisco AP's didn't negotiate power correctly but that has been fixed. I have some 3700/3800 on Meraki switches in my lab and working fine.

Are the Cisco 3700's registered with the WLC and the Meraki registered with the Meraki Cloud dashboard? I have the Meraki registered but I'm unsure of what is the best procedure for the access point as I am totally new to Meraki. Are there any docs that you followed? I'm just not sure at this point where to go? I know that the Meraki's ports are all on vlan1 and trunked and of course the switch is getting out to the Internet and registering with Meraki. I know I need to configure one of the other ports on the switch as an access port that I will plug in the Cisco 3700 i on the same vlan as my existing Cisco access points but not sure if I need any routing on the Meraki switch to allow the test Cisco AP to get it's IP address from the internal DHCP server and hopefully register with my WLC.

I also have a Cisco AP/WLC with a Meraki Switch/Firewall setup and it is working fine. In my case Firewall is providing DHCP, has all the VLANs and is connected to the switch via trunk port.
Cisco AP is connected to for instance VLAN12 which is also the management interface of the Cisco WLC and that is about it. On the switch (see screen shot) I created VLAN12 interface and DHCP relay to the VLAN12 IP on the firewall. I'm not sure how your setup is exactly but you can do something similar
See second screen shot I can setup a DHCP relay on the Meraki Firewall as well for a particular VLAN. In my case however I am letting the firewall handle the DHCP.
Hope this helps feel free to ask questions.

I am working with a Meraki MS 220 L2 switch so while by default all the ports are trunked on vlan 1 and the switch has access to the Internet I'm not too clear on getting the Cisco 3700i access point to a:) Get its IP address from the Cisco 6800. Basically I am trying to get the Cisco AP on the access port I configured as the same for all the AP's to get it's IP from the Cisco 6800 and register with the WLC.
As I totally new to Meraki, do I have to create Networks in the Meraki dashboard??

I'm going to assume you have a setup somewhat similar to what is in the diagram. 6800 has the SVI and DHCP pool setup. You want the access point to get an IP from that DHCP Pool that resides on the 6800.
I have something similar but instead of 6800 I have an MX Firewall doing DHCP. And instead of a L2 switch I have L3 switch but I have attached screen shot from a L2 switch config.
AP will connect to the switch port via access port on the VLAN you want. And on the switch you will make sure you are not blocking DHCP servers and you are seeing the DHCP server IP in the dashboard. That should be it. Port between the Meraki and 6800 is trunked as well as between the WLC and 6800.

Thanks for all your help but looks like the MS220 doesn't even have any options to see whether I am blocking any DHCP servers much less allow any DHCP servers
