Hi,
Can anyone tell me if you are able to configure a Cisco 3850 as a Mobility Anchor. I read that it can act as a Foreign controller.
I have a WLC 5508 as a Foreign controller and would like to create a mobility anchor to the Cisco 3850 in a restricted DMZ acting as the Mobility anchor if possible for guest access.

have tried the other way round and it works fine, where 5508 was Anchor and 3650 was foreign.
you can definitely try, cant see a reason why it shouldn't work, make sure you new mobility enabled on 5508
config mobility new-architecture enable
(once you say yes, wlc will save and reboot automatically to be careful if you are doing in production)
configure 3850 is MC, in 3850 you don't have a drop down menu to select anchor so you will have to type self IP (or Local)
wireless mobility controller
save and reload.
if there is firewall between them make smake sure that the UDP port 16666 and IP port 97 are opened in both direction.
Let us know if it works.

3850 cannot act as "Guest Anchor" controller.
