I have a Cisco 4404 with a GLC-T (non Cisco) converter plugged in when I plug it into the Cisco switch no link led comes on if I plug the GLC-T into my laptop the link comes on. Is the problem most likely

Or I have heard some people having trouble with the non Cisco GLC-T but just seems funny it works while plugged into the laptop.
