Hi Community.
We have a single stand alone 5508 WLC in a customer Data center which we need to decommission soon.
We are migrating the APs off of this onto a controller that will be hosted within a different data center within a DMZ - Different IP subnets, with WAN and firewall in between.
Both controllers will be running 8.0.133.0
Questions are
1. Can we automatically duplicate the config over the WAN - if not is it a case of pulling the config of one and manually configuring the other and the APs will see both?
2. Do we need firewall ports open for continuity of service?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
1. Can we automatically duplicate the config over the WAN - if not is it a case of pulling the config of one and manually configuring the other and the APs will see both?
There is no automatic process. But you can backup the old WLC config and restor to new one. Make sure you have the same hardware and same software version. If hardware and software is not same then i will not recommand you to back and restore. In that case it better to config a new WLC from scratch.
Here is the post: https://mrncciew.com/2013/01/25/backup-restore-wlc-configs/
2. Do we need firewall ports open for continuity of service?
Ensure that the CAPWAP UDP ports 5246 and 5247 (similar to the LWAPP UDP ports 12222 and 12223) are enabled and are not blocked by an intermediate device(Firewall) that could prevent an access point from joining the controller.
