Cisco AIR-CAP-1702i-K9 powering issues.

Hello,

I run into some issues with powering few AP 1702i . Data sheet stated the power cons.  15.4W

Which the Pwr injector : AIR-PWRINJ5 should do. The POE requirements are 802.3af.

However in real world when running both radios (2.4 and 5 GHz) the 5GHz radio is not running on full power . It is on 15dBm instead of 22 dBm while running on AIR-PWRINJ5  . For POE going from HP-5406zl ( with 17W per port ) one AP has 5GHz on full 22dBm and the other one 17 dBm.

I will try to to get more juice from HP as it should be 802.3at but what about the AIR-PWRINJ5 ?

I was thinking about use AIR-PWRINJ4 as it goes to 20W but the output from AIR-PWRINJ5 is 48V/0.32A and AIR-PWRINJ5 has 56V/ 0.55A .

Or is there any other option .

We have to use both powering options for different AP's.

Thanks for your help.

That's not unusual. In the 5GHz, there are different maximum power settings per channel.

You should be able to go and pull this document

Thanks Stephen, that totally explains it.

S o the question is, can use AIR-PWRINJ4 even when it has different Voltage/amp parameters from AIR-PWRINJ5.

only relavant data sheet I found is this one :

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/technology/poe/technical/reference/Power.html

But there is no mention of a 1700 series...
