Cisco Aironet 1130G Can not find Airplay device

Hi there,

I have wireless network and I have used Cisco Aironet 1130G for access point.

I need to connect my apple devices such as iPhone, iPad to Airoplay.

None of Apple devices can not find Airplay althogh they are on the same network.

Do you have any suggestions?

Thank you,

Shosho

Are these stand-alone autonomous access points? or are they controller based access points?

If the access points are all on the same vlan and the vlans do not span subnets then the Airplay should work, but if they span subnets then you will need multicast and some sort of bonjour gateway to forward the traffic.

You may also need to enable multicast on the wired network.

Bonjour protocol operates on service announcements and service queries which allow devices to ask and advertise specific applications such as:

  • Printing Services
  • File Sharing Services
  • Remote Desktop Services
  • iTunes File Sharing
  • iTunes Wireless iDevice Syncing (in Apple iOS v5.0+)
  • AirPlay offering the following streaming services:

Music broadcasting in iOS v4.2+

Video broadcasting in iOS v4.3+

Full screen mirroring in iOS v5.0+ (iPad2, iPhone4S or later)
