Cisco Aironet 1240AG Setup?

I took over a client that has several Cisco 1240AG AP's. Currently they are running the 2.4-GHz 802.11g mode but I see from the dashboard it has a 5-GHz 802.11a thats just disabled. I'd like to use the 5Ghz as well. I found the below on the specs for it on Cisco's website. My question is do just need to enable it? Do I need a different antenna or anything or is it just turned off. DO I need to create a new VLAN for the 5ghz network or will it transmit both?

It features dual-embedded modules-a 2.4-GHz 802.11g module and a 5-GHz 802.11a module. Both radio modules feature dual RP-TNC connectors to allow users to select from numerous 2.4-GHz and 5-GHz diversity and nondiversity remote antennas.

For the 1242's, each radio requires its own antenna.  The 2.4ghz is wider apart than the 5ghz.  The 5ghz antennas usually have a marking of a blue dot indication they are 5ghz antennas.  Now you can use a dual band antenna, but you need to have 2 antennas per radio if you want to use diversity, which you should in an indoor environment.  

The reason that its probably disabled, is because there are no antenna connected to the 5ghz radios.  This is typical in many older environments I see, because they felt that there is no need for it at that time.

I'll have to grab a ladder tomorrow and take a closer look at the current antenna's to see if they have that Blue mark you indicated

Don't know what antenna your using, but 2.4ghz has no marking, the 5ghz should have a blue dot right above where the antenna connects to the AP and a dual band antenna will have a grey dot.

Does anyone know if this model has a G or 100M LAN connection? I can't find it in the specs online. We have a network monitoring tool and its only showing a 100M connection but I'm wondering if thats limited by perhaps the POE injectors and if I replace them I'll get G speed.

 you require another antenna. Both frequency cannot be used on single antenna.
