Cisco Aironet 1530 Series Outdoor Access Point

Hello

I apologize for my English

I need to resolve some questions about the Cisco Aironet 1530 Series Access Point.

This product uses AWPP protocol?

if so,


- Can it be used to create a mesh network?

-Which band is used for the communication between nodes? (Blackhaul)

The 1530 can be used for mesh. The AWPP is just what is used to find the best path to the root.  Typically the 5ghz is used as the backhaul and the 2.4ghz for client access if required. You can also enable client access on the backhaul but it's not recommended if you have lots of clients.

So, The access point of the 1530 series is made for mesh?

The datashet of this product does not mention the use of the standard 802.11s mesh

My question is...

This equipment can be used for mesh networks or is created for mesh networks and has all the capabilities of mesh?

That AP along with other outdoor and indoor AP's support mesh. The data sheet does show it supports mesh so you will be fine. You have to decide which model of the 1532 you want, that being internal antenna or with the use of external antennas.

I am not totally clear, I will try to explain my best.

I want to use the 1532i to create a mesh but only with those devices

  I intend to use five 1532i one of them wired to a WLC.
  Is it possible to create the mesh network with only those devices?

Okay... you need a WLC to run mesh which you have. You need to have a code version that supports that model and that's can be found in the WLC matrix. The AP can't be powered up from the WLC. You need the power injector for that model. That is listed in the data sheet. The other mesh AP's need to be powered via an AC adapter or hard wired.  You of course have to stage the AP's and configure them to come up as mesh.

Thank you very much, I understand your explanation very well.
Can you recommend me a channel width setting  for 802.11n and a safe distance betwen ap's  for the blackhaul network.
And if you know how many maximum users aproximate can have each 1532i ?

Design is not cookie cutter.  It depends on your requirements and the environment which would result in how many AP's you need and where they need to be located. 

As far as channels, you should use channel 165 or any non-dfs channels. 

I cant tell you where and how many AP's, you would need to get Cisco or a Cisco VAR to provide you with a good design.
