We have a Cisco Aironet 1832i access point. It has 8.2 firmware version and we tried to update to 8.10. Is it possible to update from 8.2 to 8.10 directly?

If you are referring to the AP only yes it is possible. You can download the code from Cisco software portal and upload to the AP using tftp, as I can remember this code supports only tftp. You need to have console access to the AP as well.

archive download-sw tftp://<path/filename>

But if you have a controller the process might differ, if this is the case you can post your controller information+Ap models managed by WLC to provide further info.

For WLC check the guide in the release notes https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/controller/release/notes/crn810mr5.html#upgrade-software

For Mobility Express https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/access_point/mob_exp/810/user_guide/b_ME_User_Guide_810/getg_started.html#task_7588F4C009744AEFBB9EB754A713E390 or https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/access_point/mob_exp/810/user_guide/b_ME_User_Guide_810/appendix.html#task_330D7AD89F974001BEF10985059485DF

ME can be very temperamental so may be better/easier to convert back to standard CAPWAP AP then upgrade to new ME code.
