cisco ap 3500 with 4400 and clean air

Dear Folks,

Is it possible to have Cisco 3500 AP's in an existing 4400 controller with clean air functionality. I read somewhere in document that 3600 doesnt support 7.2 version in 4400 etc

I couldnt find in cisco site, whether Cisco 3500 AP can use clean air functionality when connected to 4400 controller .

Clean Air is support on the 4400 WLCs, 7.2 isn;t though.

Edit:  It's the 3600 series APs that aren't supported.

Little confused .. You mentioned 3500 in your subject but in your body of the post you state 3600 ..

3500 is supported on a 4400 with 7.0 code

3600 is not support on the 4400 because it requires 7.2 code. The 4400 doesn't support 7.2 code and stops at 7.0 code ..

What i was looking for is 3500 . But i could only get document regarding incompatibility related with 3600 and 4400 series controller. So i wanna make sure , that 3500 supports 4400 controller in terms of clean air configuration .

Yes 3500 was the first clean air ap introduced. It does work with 4400 in clean air mode.

The compatibility matrix shows you that the 3500's are supported if running 7.0.x which is the last supported code on the 4400, which is also in that matrix.
