Cisco AP flashes continuously green red

Hi,

i have a 2802i running MobilityExpress 8.10.162.0 as primary controller and prefered master (AP1).

I successfully added a 2702i as subordinate AP (AP2).

So far everything looks good, I have no errors. But the AP2 keeps blinking red green although clients can connect successfully.

Someone an idea?

 - Could be a power(ing) issue , in a way that radios and antennas operate but not at 'full strength'. Connect to the ap and issue the command show logging, ideally do this just after the ap has been booted , check for info's.

Hi marce1000,

at the moment there is no other device connected to this switch. Power consumption is 6.8W (AP2) from available 130W.

The AP was before used as autonomous AP. I converted it to LWAP and did a factory reset via mode button. Is it possible that there are leftovers from the prior config? I can see BVI interfaces and vlans which are not in my network. Could these cause the problem?

 - To be 100% sure it is not a powering problem , you still need that output  I talked about , just after boot. Or attach a console to it and scrutinize the boot-process. Watch for messages related to power-problems. I don't think it is a left-over from a previous config. If so the procedures I advise will point that out too.

The output is below the picture in my last post.

 - It would seem that the AP is not fully or in native capwap mode indeed (lwap) because of those bvi bridge group messages seen amongst others. I would reset the ap/(capwap) configuration again , have a look at this document : https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/wireless/aironet-1200-series/99763-reset-lwappconfig-lap.html and use or instance capwap erase all
