Gents,

I amp plainng connect my Cisco IW3700 with cisco Optical Switch using media Convertor  which will convert the media and give POE Power to AP IW3700 (POE+).

we are using  compatible1000LX SFP tranciever module from both sides . Distance is 1KM.Cisco IW3700 has Rj45 to M12 Ports which will used to connectot POE IN port on IW3700 and get power from Media Convertor

Will this be any interoperability issue ?

Cisco Optical Swith (SFP GLC-LH-SMD)-----to----> (SFP-1000LX)Media Convertor(Coppert Ports RJ45 , POE+)

(POE IN, RJ45 to M12 cable --->CISCO IW3700

The port will be an access port from the switch side  in term of configuration.

Can you remotely power down the PoE port of the power injector/media converter?

Hi Leo Laohoo,

This is just a design phase, we assume that we will not face any interoperability issue  by using third party media convertor (SFP to copper) between cisco optical switch and Access Point. the following will be our practical implementation.

Cisco Optical Swith (SFP GLC-LH-SMD)-----to----> (SFP-1000LX)Media Convertor(Coppert Ports RJ45 , POE+)

(POE IN, RJ45 to M12 cable --->CISCO IW3700

IF an AP is acting "strange" and the only way to fix the AP is to kill the PoE, then you want to look at a IP-based power injector so an operator can kill the power going to the AP remotely.
