Hi all,

I have an Cisco Catalyst 9120 AXI running with integrated EWC.

Obviously, the 9120 has slower wifi speed than an AP2802i Mobility Express.

2802i wifi speed 660Mbps

9120 wifi speed 500 Mbps

Both devices are connected to cisco poe inj 6

Is there any special hints for me please.

Thanks for help

Both those values are really good throughput. How do you test it? simple speedtest or doing longer duration iperf?

Also what client do you use for testing? does the client supports WiFi6?

Hi Rasika,

sorry, i marked it as solved, it is a mistake

I am using speedtest

The phone is the same i use to do the same test.

The phone is AX, Wifi6 yes.

Even the device not AX, Wifi6

why is th huge difference?

What am i missing?

I tried the convert tool, but comes out with error

Airos convert to wlc.

Thanks for help

You will never get consistent values with Speedtest. That number can change if you move further away from the ap or if the server is utilized. You should look at iPerf to test local speeds that does not test speed over the internet. Don’t think that just because you have a WiFi 6 ap and client that you will see gigabit speeds. The numbers you have are pretty good.

Hi Scott,

it is the same infrastructure, all same same, except the cisco device.

With 2802i i get constantly 630-660Mbps

The C9120Axi should be stronger and better performance, but it seems to me it is not.

Software issue?

The software is in Bundle Mode, is it possible to install?

Thanks for help
