Cisco Catalyst Wireless Application for Android

Hi Team,

I am trying to download the Cisco Catalyst Wireless App on my android phone (Android Version 12). However, the Google Play Store suggests the following and doesn’t allow me to install the app:

“This app isn’t available for your device because it was made for an older version of Android”.

Whereas the user guide for the app suggests that it should be available for Android version 8 onward:

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/controller/ewc/mob-app/user-guide/cisco_catalyst_wireless_app_ug_12/overview_of_the_mobile_app.html

Does anyone know if the app is still available on Android and if yes, where can I download it? Thanks.

Regards,

S

The release notes clearly state: Android 8.0 (Oreo) to Android 11
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/controller/ewc/mob-app/rel-notes/cisco_catalyst_wireless_app_rn_12.html#id_136199

So if you want them to update it for new versions you'll have to open a TAC case and get an enhancement request raised, with a supporting business case from your account team.  Given that they haven't updated the app in over 2 years I think they're more likely to end of life it than update it.

That said - I was able to install it by going to the play store on Windows while logged in to my Google account:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cisco.catalystwireless&hl=en_US&pli=1
Then select the install option there (which allowed me to select my Android 14 phone) and after that it showed it in Play store on the phone and allowed me to install it!

Under the * Help there is a Contact Us option so you could also submit feedback there.

Thanks Rich. The application is available after I tried the suggestion above.
