Hi!
I am new configuring this type of WLAN.
I got my AP/WLC in place. But all my AP's are set as WLC as well.
How do I get them to just be AP's that are depending on my first WLC ? Do I need a new firmware , Or is there a trick in the config that I have not seen ?
thanks
Jeff

go to console of the AP and type this command:
ap-type capwap

Hi Sandeep!
Should I just do it on pure AP's, or also on the AP/WLC ? I have tried this on the AP not on the WLC...does not seem to work since the AP then loops since the AP complains that it does not have anyone to talk CAPWAP to. Then, I have placed the AP on the WLC as well, then I do not have any SSID present...full chaos!
That is why I am asking if it is a different firmware on the AP...
thank you for your help!

If you already have another WLC then you need to run the above command only on this AP.
