Has anyone been able to get a cisco 802.11b radio card to work with a netgear 802.11g access point?
I have the card installed on a laptop running win xp pro. It sees the netgear access point but will not connect to it. The access point was installed by somebody else so I do not know yet how it was setup. All other laptops are working properly using the netgear radio cards. I am not sure why the client has chosen to use a cisco card for this particular laptop, but they want it to work.
Thanks in advance for any assistance

The Aironet card should work with the Netgear AP. The access point is the device that determines what can or cannot communicate with it. Seems like there maybe some encryption on the Netgear like WEP that is not allowing the Aironet client to associate. Check the settings on the Netgear. You may need to go to the Netgear site and download a configuration manual so you can get into the AP and look at its settings.

I was thinking the same thing about the Netgear AP. I know they are not running WEP. The only thing I worry about is if I change some settings, then the other laptops that are using Netgear cards will no longer be able to connect. I guess I will make adjustments one at a time and change them back if need be. I am hoping they purchase a Cisco AP since our company does support those.
Thanks
