Cisco WLC 9800 Reload

Hi,

I'm newbie to 9800 WLC, I have setup VM on SSO mode and all working, AP can synch, user can connect, manual switch failover is working.

But I notice when initiate reload on Active WLC it will reload the whole stack, which includes the Standby WLC.

Reload command is being issued on Active unit, this will reload the whole stack
Proceed with reload? [confirm]

Is this behavior normal? should it only reload the Active WLC and the Standby will transition to Active WLC?

 - That is normal behavior ; if you want to reboot the current active controller only use :  redundancy force-switchover

-- Each morning when I wake up and look into the mirror I always say ' Why am I so brilliant ? '
When the mirror will then always repond to me with ' The only thing that exceeds your brilliance is your beauty! '

And if you want to reload the standby only you can use:
reload standby-cpu
