Hi,
I have a Cisco 5508 WLAN Controller which is running code 7.4.121.0. I am planning to upgrade it to 8.0.120.0.
I have tried to back up the configuration through GUI and it was getting failed. It says the request timed out towards the tftp server. I am using tftp32 software.
Please let me is there any prerequisites I need to follow before doing the upgrade.
I am looking some suggestions about this upgrade.
Thanks

Try CLI method & see. If that fails, then there is some connectivity/port issue between your WLC & TFTP.
Regarding the upgrade I would go through the release notes carefully.

Also I would upgrade FUS image to 1.9.0.0 as well. This will take 30-45 min downtime and suggest to do it via CLI as well.

Get enough downtime for both upgrades (at least 1 hour outage)

What is the exact error message?
What is the complete output to the command "transfer upload start"?

hey buddy,
first try to ping from WLC to your TFTP server. if RTO, disable your firewall windows on your machine (PC/Laptop)
