While troubleshooting clients by using the debug client XX:XX:XX:XX;XX:XX, I receive the follow error message randomly every couple of seconds.
*apfOrphanSocketTask: Oct 31 16:18:40.741: invalid ether type 0x86dd received
The client is associated, authenticated and is pingable.
Thanks in advance,
Bill

this msg is not related with this associated client in question, it is wlc receiving this msg, its an ethertype for ipv6.

How do I resolve it and or is it an issue?
Thanks

you need to sniff the port/etherchannel or the phy port receiving this traffic(if no log) to see who's the source.
by the way do you see any performance issue and or cpu spike.

No performance or CPU spike but high memory usage. Not sure if the memory is related to the 7.0.116.0 bug or this...
Thanks for your help

Saravanan,
If it is not directly related to this client then why is it when I disable this clients debug the errors stop?
Thanks
