I've worked with a couple Aironets in my day, But I'll admit I haven't worked directly with the Aironet 1552
How do you have it "set in autonomous mode? I do know that k9w8 versions of the software are Lightweight versions and need a controller to function. Are you using a controller to set it to autonomous?
Not sure if I can help, but just curious really.

It's a lightweight IOS. You're supposed to configure it from your controller, that's why you can't get into global. If you need it to be autonomous, you'll have to install an autonomous image on that AP.
Lightweight AP IOS images are K9W8, autonomous are K9W7.

I did not know, but I had to insert the "debug capwap cli console" command to enable the "conf t". Now it's working. Thanks for the answers guys!
