Hi,

I am using a cisco controller AIR-CT5508-K9   which supports the indoor 1242 access points. I want to purchase indoor access points as I understand that the 1242 series Access Points are coming to end off life. Kindly advise on which other model I can purchase.

Hi,

Supported Access Points are based on the software version of the WLC, and not the WLC model. If the WLC is running version 8.0.120.0, AP-1250 would be one of your choice.

The Software version of the WLC is 7.0.98.0 . will it still work with the 1250-AP?

Hi,

1242 AP last support is 8.0.x.

I will say either use 2602 or 2702 AP, but these AP need minimum 7.2.110.0 and 7.6.120.0 respectively.
