Configuration stored on a Cisco AIR-LAP1142N-A-K9

I've been tasked with deploying AIR-LAP1142N-A-K9 connecting to our WLC5508. Our security officer has asked me what configuration is stored on the actual AP. When I try to console into the AP it prompts me for a username and password. I have not set one and can not find were to set it in the controller.

Is there any config stored on the APs?

and

What username and password do I use for the console of the AP?

I'm very new to this wireless system.

Thanks.

Danny

Nothing is stored on the AP since the config has to come from the WLC.

Try Cisco/Cisco

Thanks Scott.

I found where to change the IPs global on the controller.

Hey Dan,

Are you using FlexConnect or Local mode on these access points? FlexConnect has the potential to maintain a lot more configuration through a reboot than local mode access points.

The access points do store information relevant to locating its WLAN controller like controller name and IP address. Additionally, if you have SSH/Telnet enabled on the access point and a username/password they will be saved on the access point as well.

I'm sure there are other items I am forgetting, but the point is that there certainly are persistent configuration items on your access points if they are taken away from the controller.
