Controller remote to MR33s

I have a site that I'd like to deploy MR33 APs. The site doesn't however have a security appliance, although we have several security appliances at our organization.

Can the APs connect to a controller remote to their local site? Seems so...

Mr can tunnel traffic to a mx in the same org

They don't require a "controller". They are simply configured and managed by the cloud.
