Every time I power down my WLC2504 controller and then back up, the time reverts back to the year 2000.
The APs can't join the controller, due to certificate errors, until I reset the clock. This problem just started recently.
I would appreciate any suggestions about what might be causing the controller to not maintain the correct time on power cycle.
I am not using NTP.
Thanks.

You might have an issue with the WLC. I would open up a TAC case and maybe get it replaced. Your only workaround is to use an NTP server which you don't use.
Thanks,
Scott

Thanks. I'll open up a TAC case.
I thought there might be a user replaceable battery.

This is a NORMAL behaviour.
If you don't have the WLC sync to a time source then every time the WLC reboots, the appliance will loose time.
The best method is still NTP.

Leo is right... If your unplugging the WLC that's a different story. I was assuming you are rebooting the WLC in which the time you set should stay.
+5 Leo.... I assume to much I guess:)

Thanks, I will add NTP - saves me a call to TAC.
