Hi All,
Does the Cisco 5508 have the ability to cap data usage up or downstream after said GBytes are transferred the user is throttled back to a lower speed?

No... There is a download throttle or if your on v7.4 a upload and download throttle per user or per SSID. There is no dynamic throttle to say that is a user uses x amount of traffic that the device will only be allowed x amount of throughput. There is burst rates and normal rates you can define on v7.3 and v7.4. v7.4 does do both up and down.

Jason,
I would not know that info. I guess it would depend on the appliance you use and maybe if you packet shape differently depending on internal subnets. You would have to understand how your packet shaping appliance works.

Thanks Scott!
Would you know how different SSID’s might be identified by an internet packet shaping device?.
