Hello ,
kindly as far as i understand that option 82 is to add identifier like AP-MAC into DHCP requests , however , if you have a large scale deployment for thousands of access point , so is it practically to configure in the DHCP server a list of thousands of AP-MAC IDs at the server side ?
thanks for support

Hi
It's depend on what you are going to do with that information.
yes, DHCP option 82 provide information where client attached to your network (AP ethernet, radio MAC)
Here are some reference post about this feature & how it configured (WLC codes 7.0.116.0 used in these post & later releases improved this feature to do via GUI. So refer config guide related to your code version, if you want to know the feature enhancement)

Hi Rasika ,
i got your point , but i would like to get a simple implementation model for large scale deployment if i need to get the security benefit only , like is that possible to configure like a wild mask or * to for the AP MAC pattern and exact match on SSID only at the DHCP side to ease deployment ?
thanks ,
Ahmed
