I have been trying to configure a access point and keep losing the connection while doing basic config.

It always happens after the access point has been up for 5 minutes and I lose the IP address assingned to my laptop by the dhcp server.Have tried ipconfig /release /renew but with no luck. The only way to regain access is to use the mode button to reset to factory default. Hope someone can help!

While doing a basic configuration of the AP, try using static IP to the AP or the default IP which is 10.0.0.1 with Cisco APs and then complete the configuration. After that try configuring the DHCP server from which the AP will get the IP address. For more information on assigning IP address to the Access point refer to the document.
