Hi,
This is my second day at work and this is the first time i am working on a router, so my questions my sound infantile. I hope this community would forgive my ignorance. My company recently bought a C1121-4P Integrated Services Router. It has a USB port on it. My company also bought a wireless cellular modem - 4G LTE (CAT 4LTE Dongle, Model number : D-LTE-AS).
My questions are
1) does the D-LTE-AS dongle support 5G SIM (for INDIA) ? and
2) by inserting this dongle in the C1121-4P, is the router connected to internet.
3) Is there any CLI command through which i can confirm whether C1121-4P is connected to the Internet ?
Thank you

Dont believe USB Will work considering the model you have and the fact that for LTE Router you use SIM card slot and not USB

LTE dongle will not work

This device have a place to you insert the SIM Card. You dont need to use dongle And there are two part-number C1121-4PLTEP and C1121-4P. Make sure yours if really LTE.
2) by inserting this dongle in the C1121-4P, is the router connected to internet.
The connection is done using the SIM card not dongle.
3) Is there any CLI command through which i can confirm whether C1121-4P is connected to the Internet ?
ping www.google.com
ping 8.8.8.8
If you get positive response from this, you have internet connection.

Thank you @Flavio Miranda for your response. When i googled C1121 i found two variants in it. C1121-4PLTEP and C1121-4P. My company bought the latter. It has a USB port. So the personnel in my company think that if, an LTE dongle (i have attached a picture of that dongle) is inserted in the USB port of this C1121-4P router, the router will be connected to internet. I wonder whether it works or not ?
but thank you for the suggestion "ping 8.8.8.8 If you get positive response from this, you have internet connection." I will check that immediately.
Once again thank you for your time.

LTE dongle will not work

I disagree with those saying it won't work. The dongle is on the C1100 datasheet:
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/routers/1000-series-integrated-services-routers-isr/datasheet-c78-739512.html#Ciscocellulartechnologiesproductportfolio
and it is supported in India:

And at https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/solutions/collateral/enterprise-networks/4g-lte-solutions/datasheet-c78-743503.html#OrderingtheCiscocellularplatforms it shows the supported router platforms:

1) does the D-LTE-AS dongle support 5G SIM (for INDIA) ?
It's an LTE dongle so the question is not whether the dongle supports a 5G SIM (which is just a SIM) but whether the 5G SIM supports LTE (most networks provide backwards compatible SIMs) and whether the mobile network has LTE coverage available where you need it. The LTE (4G) dongle will not be able to connect to a pure 5G network.
2) by inserting this dongle in the C1121-4P, is the router connected to internet.
No, it does not simply happen by magic - you will need to configure the router with the correct service profile for your network. You might need to ask your service provider for the correct parameters to use.

3) Is there any CLI command through which i can confirm whether C1121-4P is connected to the Internet ?
Refer to the config guide link above. Step number 1: insert the SIM card in the dongle, then reload the router, then "show inventory" to confirm the router has detected the dongle and see what slot and module number it is registered as, which you will need to use for all the cellular commands in the config. Follow the config guide to configure the connection and initiate the connection which is brought up on demand according to the dialer config (DDR). For an always on connection you'll need to ensure you have something generating "interesting" traffic to bring up the connection and use
dialer idle-timeout 0
to disable timeout.
