does dual-band AP basically equal to two APs from client's perspective?

Hi,

I have a dual-band (2.4 / 5 GHz) AP deployed. Each band has its own SSID assigned. My question is:

From the client's perspective, how many BSS exist? Do we have two AP here, one for 2.4GHz and another for 5GHz?
If the signal strength is different between the two bands, would roaming occur between 2.4G and 5G even there is only one AP when the wireless client moving around?
Is it supported that we configure the same SSID for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz?

No It just one AP that support dual band. You give the option just for conecctign with 2.4 ghz or 5 ghz. Its depend on the compatbility of the wifi card on your computer.
Roammin refers changin wifi conextion from one ap to another. This is just one AP. So theres no roaming. Just a los of conecction forced by the user to connect to another band.
Yes its supported and its the best pratice. Thay way you give the oportunity to your clients that have more modern wifi cards to get a more fast connection.
